Niagara County Central School District In Lockdown

Earlier this afternoon, the Niagara County Central School District superintendent James B Derrylson responded to a bomb threat phone call. He immediately published the following statement on the district website.

“Dear Parents,
The Niagara County  Central School District has responded accordingly to the bomb threat made towards our school district. The student in question has been placed in police custody, and will remain with police for the remainder of the investigation as well as the remainder of the school year! We will keep you updated as to any further details we get from our local law enforcement agencies.”

Superintendent Derrylson also made this comment “ We have a zero tolerance policy for threats made toward our school district. We have seen many threats that turned out to be deadly shootings. As with such shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary And Columbine High School we do not take threats towards a school or district lightly. We will continue to address the situation accordingly, and we will notify you of any updates.”

We will be publishing the full report, as more details become available to us and that are released by the district’s Superintendent.
